Decanter was founded in 1975 by Colin Parnell and Tony Lord in London from very humble beginnings. Since that time it has grown to become the most influential wine publication on the market, read in 98 countries. Following the huge success of the magazine The Decanter World Wine Awards were introduced in 2004 and with over 15,000 entries per year it is one of the biggest and most important competitions in the wine industry. Once again this year Decanter are using Enomatic wine dispensing systems to promote the winning wines!
Earlier on this year the competition opened with blind tasting, judging took place in the spring. By June, the results were in and published!
Chaired by Steven Spurrier, the panel of judges consisted of 240 wine experts from 22 different countries tasting wine and getting through around 40,000 Riedel tasting glasses!
Select venues carrying Enomatic wine dispensers choose their wines from the winners list and between now and October promote their choices within their venue. The two week celebration of the winning wine starts 1st November and wine lovers and novices alike will get the chance to sample the DWWA 2015 winners straight from Enomatic’s wine dispensers all around the world!
The red carpet was rolled out and the mood was set for Atlanta’s top lifestyle bloggers, real estate agents and interior designers who, along with over 400 eager and curious guests came together in Buckhead last night (or whenever) for Modani’s open house event.
Home Improvement was the theme of the evening and those who came to explore and be inspired by exciting design concepts in home furnishing were not disappointed!

The atmosphere at Modani was relaxed and convivial, the guests were entertained by music from the DJ and staff mingled among the throng tempting the tastebuds with delicious nibbles, everybody loved the self serve Enomatic system for wine preservation and glasses were kept topped up all night long!
The sleek and stylish design of the dispensers was in complete harmony with the contemporary and modern feel of the evening. No room for outmoded ideas here, everything (and everyone) at the show was thoroughly state of the art!
Egypt Sherrod was on hand for a signing of her latest book Keep Calm It’s Just Real Estate, her guide to stress free home buying and of course, when the house is bought the next step is to furnish it! Following last years trend for ‘hipster wine’ – (rare, odd or organic) the tide is definitely turning towards classic wine with a focus on soil and taste for 2015.
Our demand for ‘better’ wine is growing. We want to be educated by our wine, to know what it is and where it comes from. Sommeliers and consumers alike are seeking out wine with provenance and a personal story, choosing those which make most sense. This year will also see emerging wine regions from Greece, England and Brazil feature more prominently on wine lists. Discovering what we like and what we don’t like can be exciting, but also risky. Sampling wine in 1oz servings from Enomatic systems removes that uncertainty, allowing everyone to be more adventurous. Restaurants and wine bars take less of a gamble investing in lesser known varieties or regions and wine lovers can cross continents in a glass to find what’s right for them!
