Tapastrie has been South Bend, Indiana’s spot for wine & tapas since 2015. It combines Mediterranean-inspired dining with an expansive wine list to give its patrons something that turns the traditional restaurant experience into an exotic culinary adventure.
Tapastrie co-owner Tom Welsh explains their concept as a “small plates concept, but while tapas is associated with Spain, other cultures in the Mediterranean eat the same way,” Welsh says, “we’ve got a little Spanish, a little Greek, a little Middle Eastern, a little French, a little Italian. The Mediterranean, in general, but in smaller portions so that people can share and try different things.”… and they also specialize in wine!
Having a wide selection of wines, they wanted to be able to give their customers an opportunity to try as many varieties by the glass as possible, while not having it result in leftover wine that would spoil when preserved through traditional methods.
Welsh, who had seen the Enomatic while traveling in New Orleans, reached out to Enomatic for more information on how it could help his business create the best possible experience for their customers.
To help them with their problem, we worked with Tapastrie to find the right Enomatic solution for their needs, resulting in a 24-bottle system with 3x Enoline ELITE 8-Bottle that is customer-interactive and allows for 3x different precise pour options. This has allowed them to take control of their wine experience and try bottles they might otherwise avoid due to price or a lack of familiarity with the varietal.
Welsh calls its Enomatic the “greatest thing since the toaster”. Customers are attracted by the sleek and attractive design, and wine sales have increased due to the variety of options available to them. The system’s customer-interactivity frees the staff to focus on other areas and keep everything running smoothly, while providing a great and unique experience for patrons.
“We are selling more wine through our Enomatic systems than by the glass at our bar or through our wine list bottle program. One out of three customers says ‘I need one at home!'”
OVERALL SERVICE EXPERIENCE
Welsh says that his “experience with delivery and installation were all positive. The technicians are always friendly and knowledgeable and my few requests for service whether IT or mechanical are always followed up on quickly. The machines are easy to clean and bottle changes are simple as well. I highly recommend these systems for an overall better wine experience“.

Casks & Flights Wine Tasting Room is a new wine bar that opened in July in downtown Pensacola, FL.
Inside the 1,770-square-foot space at 121 Palafox Place is a wine tasting room and lounge, which boasts eight Enomatic. Seven Enoline ELITE 8-Bottle and an Enoround 16-Bottle are the main attractions in the bar. You will also find a frozen wine machine and fermenting tanks behind the bar, where Casks & Flights brews its own mead.
The 72 wines-by-the-glass are available across the eight Enomatic which are self-serve units: guests receive a wine card, which is used as a running tab or in a pre-paid amount option. They can then browsed their selection, held in their Enomatic wine dispensers that keep each wine at its optimal temperature and preserve the organoleptic properties of the wines for more than 30 days (taste, color, body and aromas).
The system offers a choice between a 1-ounce taster, a half-glass pour or a full-glass pour. It allows them to pay a smaller amount to try a wine before indulging on a whole glass, or they can try several different tastes and discover new flavors. There are options at every price point, from budget conscious to indulgent.
Co-owners John Wilson and John McCorvey say that they’re “the only place for 400 miles where you can spend a couple bucks for a taste rather than more for a glass. You can try wine on a better budget. It’s great for people who don’t want to commit to a flavor and want to try a taste rather than a glass”. They are also partnering with local businesses, it is a major focus of Casks & Flights. Wilson and McCorvey’s venture is teaming up with local brewers to serve craft beers.
Wilson hopes Casks & Flights unique approach to serving wine draws customers back again and again.
“With our business, our biggest goal is to completely revolutionize the industry. Our biggest objective is to create a different experience every time. It is an art to make our products, but it is also an art to serve and retail it,” he said.
A new Enomatic at Capital City Club, a private social club in Atlanta, GA, has just been installed to update their previous wine system.
We are happy that they chose to trust us another time for their wine dispenser. Their country club in Brookhaven is now updated with the latest version of Enoline ELITE.
With this new system, their members will have the choice between 8 bottles of wine. All of them preserved in perfect conditions and served at perfect temperatures.
A new self-serve wine bar is available with a great selection of reds and whites, through two black Enoline ELITE wine dispensers. We are happy they’re renewing their trust in our systems for their new store!
How it works? It’s surprisingly easy: customers get a pre-paid wine card and then pick between 16 different bottles and pours of various sizes. This Enomatic system is designed to encourage what Whole Foods calls “sipping and shopping” aka “buying under the influence”.
Along with this new wine bar, the 35.000 square foot store features a fast-casual restaurant, a sushi counter and even a build-your-own-avocado-toast station.
All in order to offer the best shopping experience to their guests!
